Which shop system is right for your business? That's a very good question, but one that's not so easy to answer. The selection of online shops is simply too vast. The company's requirements, usability, and the shop system's functions must be precisely coordinated. This article will examine the five most common systems: WooCommerce, Magento, Shopify, Shopware, and Typo3.

What criteria must the online shop meet for the company?
To what extent can the shop be scaled?
What kind of products does the company want to sell through the shop?
WooCommerce
WooCommerce is widely used in Germany, with a market share of 26%. This WordPress plugin solution is suitable for beginners and has comparatively low costs. With monthly server hosting costs of €20, WooCommerce is in the lower price segment. One drawback is that the costs for the plug-ins vary.

Integration with WordPress allows for community involvement. The user-friendly interface, even on mobile devices, is another advantage of WooCommerce. Added to that is the very fast loading speed, which is particularly important for SEO rankings. WooCommerce also presents a strong and modern design. With the right developers, the sky's the limit.

The open source Magento e-commerce system is suitable for medium-sized to very large companies. Magento can offer a wide range of products. The platform also impresses with its excellent user experience.

The multi-shop platform allows multiple subshops to be managed via a central system. Due to its complex chinese overseas british database structure, the PHP (scripting language)-based shop system requires an agency or in-house developers. This obviously involves significant costs. Furthermore, ongoing maintenance and setup costs are quite high. However, the shop system is suitable for emerging companies due to its high scalability. With many products, high sales, and numerous visitors at the same time, there are no limits to what a Magento shop can achieve.

Shopify
Although Shopify has only existed since 2006, it is already very well-known. With its excellent price/performance/effort ratio, it has quickly established itself in the market. The cloud-based shop system is easy to start and suitable for small to large businesses. Connection to third-party systems is also possible via API. While Shopify offers a wide range of extension options and plugins, the shop's customization options are very limited.

Shopify's user-friendliness for mobile devices is excellent, as is its clear and streamlined user interface. Every customer can quickly find their way around this shopping system.

Of course, there are a few disadvantages here too. The shop system is more product-oriented, meaning it's less suitable for licensing and/or subscription models. However, the product range can be easily scaled upwards. The monthly cost model includes an additional 2% sales commission. You have to carefully consider whether choosing this shop system makes sense for your company. In addition,
